The WarriorBots ended the tournament with a high score of 295 points (out of 400) and 7th place out of 36 in robot performance. They also received the 2nd Place Champion's award, which is the most prestigious award in FLL and is awarded to the teams who are the best overall in the four categories (Project, Robot Performance, Robot Design, & Teamwork). Along with the Champion's Award, the WarriorBots received an invitation to the Northern California Championships at Newark Memorial High School. 48 teams will compete at the tournament.
Both the FLL and FTC seasons have kicked off in the past two weeks. The teams are starting off well.
The FLL team has eight members, five veterans and three rookies. They have reviewed the game rules and started brainstorming. In this past couple of weeks, they have already started bonding as a team.
The FTC team went to the kick off at DeVry University in Fremont. The team hosted a RobotC programming workshop and watched as this year's challenge was revealed. Currently, we have over 10 students interested in FTC. We will be deciding who is on the team in the next week. Membership will most likely be determined by level of commitment and no previous experience will be required.
Another week has begun, and the Little WarriorBots are working with amazing progress. Today, the students continued testing their newly built mini-Lego bots. Coach Lane and some FRC/FTC members assisted with solidifying the design of their robots, so they can eventually drive them around. The Little WarriorBots also began working with the RobotC (for Mindstorms) program in order to program their robots' functions.
Today, the Little WarriorBots continued to work on their LEGO structures. We did several tests to check the robustness of each design. Every student learned something new about bracing and creating a structurally sound design. Overall, progress has been steady, many of the kids have halfway completed their mini LEGO robots. They will continue working on their robots next session. The students are being mentored by members from the FLL, FTC, and FRC teams and the camp is being led by the Director of VCS Robotics, Annette Lane.
Yesterday, the Little WarriorBots spring camp began as FRC, FTC, and FLL students mentored over 21 students from the Valley Christian Elementary School. Today, they began with a simple task which challenged them to build a structurally sound design. To read more about the Little WarriorBots camp

Today the WarriorBots team #625 will be competing in a championship tournament with 47 other teams. Robot Performance rounds are at 11:15pm, 2:30pm, and 3:45pm. They will present their project and go to robot design and teamwork judging in between these rounds. We hope that they do well and have FUN! Go WarriorBots!
Tomorrow will be a busy day for all WarriorBorgs teams. Five members of the FTC team are gearing up for an FTC Scrimmage at Newark Memorial High School. The FLL team will be participating in a championship tournament at the same high school. Meanwhile members of the FRC team will wrap up brainstorming and continue with designing back at home.
As this will be the first FTC scrimmage of the season, we are looking forward to discovering new ways to improve our robot, as well as having fun. Go WarriorBorgs Team 2891! Good Luck WarriorBots!
