Today, we submitted several materials for the FRC competition- the essay for the Chairman's Award, data for the Woodie Flowers Award, and the website itself for the Best Website Award. Although we are not eligible for the Chairman's Award since we are a rookie team, we are hoping that the essay will reflect upon our goal to achieve the Rookie All-Star Award. We also worked on the FRC and FTC robots. The builders began troubleshooting issues with the overall function of the FTC robot, including making modifications to the shooter so that it would fire farther. The programmers also troubleshot the code for both the FRC and FTC robots, including issues with the watchdog timer. They also worked on the camera, servo motors, and encoders. Overall, we are optimistic that these troubleshooting sessions will allow us to continue progress on the FRC and FTC robots, creating robots ready for competition.

Today, the builders and programmers worked on the robot at school. The builders worked on cleaning up the wiring of the robot, while the programmers worked with the programming mentor, Gary, to debug the robot control code. Our Mubachi motor for the roller burned out, we are going to replace it with a more powerful motor tomorrow. The programmers also had issues communicating with the wireless bridge for the robot controls, so we decided to order a new one. We are continuing to make progress and are on schedule. Ship day is not far away! Go WarriorBorgs!

FRC Team Reviews Robot (DAY.20)

Today, we tested our robot on our newly "constructed" FRC field. The first tests held promising results- the robot was very responsive to the controls on the new carpet, and the camera was able to follow the target precisely. The robot was also able to  scale the bump with little to no difficulty. Several builders also took time constructing and painting the shipping crate for the robot in the school's machinery room. With the much needed assistance from a fellow mentor, they were able to complete the construction and painting of the crate within an hour. Overall we are thrilled that we have progressed so far! Go Warriorborgs!
