FTC Goes to Fremont

December 21, 2010 1 comment
On December 19, the WarriorBorgs attended the final Norcal FTC Qualifier at Irvington High School in Fremont. After facing some issues with autonomous and the manipulator, the WarriorBorgs ended up being chosen by Team 524, our friends from the previous Galt qualifier, during alliance selections. While further technical issues prevented our alliance from progressing into the final round, the WarriorBorgs still ended up having a memorable and productive experience at the qualifier. During the awards ceremony, the WarriorBorgs were awarded with another Think Award. The WarriorBorgs will be attending the FTC State Championship in Newark, CA on January 9, 2011. Hope to see you there!

FTC Team Success!

On Saturday, December 11, 2010, the FTC WarriorBorgs were seeded first at the qualifying tournament in Galt, CA. They went on to win the regional tournament with their alliance partners. In addition, they did very well in the judging and received the Inspire Award. According to FIRST, "The Inspire Award is the most prestigious FTC award, and is given to the team that truly embodied the ‘challenge’ of the FTC program.  The team that receives this award is chosen by the judges as having best represented a role model FIRST Tech Challenge Team.  The team that receives this award is a top contender for all other judging categories and is a strong competitor on the field." Congratulations WarriorBorgs and good luck at the State Championships!

FLL & FTC Kickoff

September 12, 2010 No comments yet
Both the FLL and FTC seasons have kicked off in the past two weeks. The teams are starting off well. The FLL team has eight members, five veterans and three rookies. They have reviewed the game rules and started brainstorming. In this past couple of weeks, they have already started bonding as a team. The FTC team went to the kick off at DeVry University in Fremont. The team hosted a RobotC programming workshop and watched as this year's challenge was revealed. Currently, we have over 10 students interested in FTC. We will be deciding who is on the team in the next week. Membership will most likely be determined by level of commitment and no previous experience will be required.

Tomorrow will be a busy day for all WarriorBorgs teams. Five members of the FTC team are gearing up for an FTC Scrimmage at Newark Memorial High School. The FLL team will be participating in a championship tournament at the same high school. Meanwhile members of the FRC team will wrap up brainstorming and continue with designing back at home. As this will be the first FTC scrimmage of the season, we are looking forward to discovering new ways to improve our robot, as well as having fun. Go WarriorBorgs Team 2891! Good Luck WarriorBots!

The FTC Robot is Nearly Complete!

We are glad to announce that the construction of the FTC robot is almost finished! The FTC builders have been working arduously, day and night to complete the robot.  So far, all major components have been installed, the robot is road (or in this case, foam) worthy, and several troubleshooting sessions have been completed.  Our programming team is hard at work writing the code for the autonomous and tele-op rounds.  The entire team is looking forward to a successful FTC year. Go WarriorBorgs!

WarriorBorgs- #2891

We are currently building our chassis and our shooter. We have finished our CAD design and are putting our robot together based on our design. We hope to finish building and programming by January 8th. Our FRC season runs from January 9th-February 23rd. During that time, we will not be working on FTC. Our competition is on February 27th, so we will have a few days before to practice and finish up, if necessary.
