Summer Camps

The Valley Christian Robotics Program will host its annual summer camp for the seventh year. All students will learn: engineering concepts, programming techniques, robot design and building, use of NXT Lego Mindstorm, team work and project management. The beginner students will have one week (25 hours) of learning about robotics and NXT-G programming. All the equipment will be provided. During this session, the student will build a basic robot and program the robot to do basic motions as well as using light and touch sensors. At the end of the week, students can sign up for the intermediate camp if they have mastered the basic skills. The intermediate and advanced students will have two weeks (50 hours) of learning and fun. We will provide all the equipment needed. Trophies and recognition plaques will be awarded at the end of the session, and the students will receive a DVD of the summer session. At the end of the summer session, the students compete with their robots and present to the audience a student-created video of the summer session. The students that participate in the summer program qualify to try out for a spot on the competitive team in the fall.
