The VCS WarriorBots robotics team has been invited to represent the USA at the First Lego League Brazil Championship. To help send the FLL Team to Brazil, we need to raise $20,000 to cover airfare, and hotel costs. Seven students, coaches and chaperones are making the trip, and we would be grateful for any help covering the costs. Every amount counts, whether it is $50, $150 or $1,000. All donations are greatly appreciated. The WarriorBots thank you for your generosity.

No, we're not dead- we've just been really really busy!
Team 3256 has been hard at work for the past few weeks brainstorming, CADing, and fabricating the robot [and minibot] for the FRC 2011
Logomotion! Challenge. So far, the main chassis of the robot is currently being welded by our lovely welding experts! A manipulator for grabbing and hanging the game pieces is currently in the process of being designed and CADed. A minibot is also in the works!
Our business team has also been hard at work writing and editing our Chairman's Award essay, logging and ordering robot parts, and much more!
Discreetly, a completely new website is in the works as well. :)
On the behalf of Team 3256, the WarriorBorgs, we wish you a productive build season and hope to see you at the regionals!
On December 19, the WarriorBorgs attended the final Norcal FTC Qualifier at Irvington High School in Fremont. After facing some issues with autonomous and the manipulator, the WarriorBorgs ended up being chosen by Team 524, our friends from the previous Galt qualifier, during alliance selections. While further technical issues prevented our alliance from progressing into the final round, the WarriorBorgs still ended up having a memorable and productive experience at the qualifier. During the awards ceremony, the WarriorBorgs were awarded with another Think Award.
The WarriorBorgs will be attending the FTC State Championship in Newark, CA on January 9, 2011. Hope to see you there!
On Saturday, December 11, 2010, the FTC WarriorBorgs were seeded first at the qualifying tournament in Galt, CA. They went on to win the regional tournament with their alliance partners. In addition, they did very well in the judging and received the Inspire Award. According to
FIRST,
"The Inspire Award is the most prestigious FTC award, and is given to the team that truly embodied the ‘challenge’ of the FTC program. The team that receives this award is chosen by the judges as having best represented a role model
FIRST Tech Challenge Team. The team that receives this award is a top contender for all other judging categories and is a strong competitor on the field."
Congratulations WarriorBorgs and good luck at the State Championships!
The WarriorBots ended the tournament with a high score of 295 points (out of 400) and 7th place out of 36 in robot performance. They also received the 2nd Place Champion's award, which is the most prestigious award in FLL and is awarded to the teams who are the best overall in the four categories (Project, Robot Performance, Robot Design, & Teamwork). Along with the Champion's Award, the WarriorBots received an invitation to the Northern California Championships at Newark Memorial High School. 48 teams will compete at the tournament.
On October 22 and 23, the WarriorBorgs participated in the 2010 Calgames event at Lynbrook High School. Seeding 8th out 36 teams, the WarriorBorgs reached the
semi-finals before being beaten by a tremendous 1st and 3rd seed team alliance. Being a hugely productive experience for our rookie drivers, Calgames was hypothetically a gigantic success! Congratulations Team 3256!
Today, the Warriorborgs are preparing for the "Take Flight for Kids" event tomorrow at the Reid-Hillview Airport. Organized by the Valley Medical Center of San Jose, the event is targeted towards children interested in the sciences and arts. Along with Team 254 of Bellarmine College Preparatory, we will be entertaining over 5,000 expected children.
The FRC, FTC, and Demo robots will be present. Hope to see you there!
Both the FLL and FTC seasons have kicked off in the past two weeks. The teams are starting off well.
The FLL team has eight members, five veterans and three rookies. They have reviewed the game rules and started brainstorming. In this past couple of weeks, they have already started bonding as a team.
The FTC team went to the kick off at DeVry University in Fremont. The team hosted a RobotC programming workshop and watched as this year's challenge was revealed. Currently, we have over 10 students interested in FTC. We will be deciding who is on the team in the next week. Membership will most likely be determined by level of commitment and no previous experience will be required.
If you attend Valley Christian High School and want to join the robotics team, now is the time to do it. Applications are being sent out and we will have a Robotics Interest Meeting on Wednesday, August 25th at lunch in room 216. We are looking for anyone interested in the following positions:
- Builder
- Programmer
- Electronics Team
- Public Relations
- Finances
- Web Design
- Photography/Film
- Project Management
We have two teams: an FTC team, (September-December) and an FRC team (1st Semester Preseason, January-February Build Season, competitions in March & April).
